Rama Sharma, graduated from Chitrakala Vidyalaya was a practicing artist in Delhi and recently moved back to Bangalore with four decades of experience She has had more than 20 solo shows, 40 plus group shows in India and abroad to her credit. She was awarded Government of India Cultural Fellowship, 1998-2000, Bharat Nirman Talented Ladies Award 1994 amongst many other awards and recognition. Rama, a Carnatic Classical vocalist, MA graduate in Sanskrit, a strong believer and active practioner of cross-disciplinary collaboration, has explored in past collaboration of Music and Art, also Sanskrit and Art. Amongst different bodies of painting series, her recent tree series stand out. She painted trees in all its aspects of season/ environment and she found tree markings gave a distinct character to them altogether.
