Jagdish Dey was born in 1942 in Bangladesh, and graduated from College of Art. He has been teaching at his institute since 1965. The artist paints figurative representations of man and woman in a variety of moods. Dey’s surreal portrayals of women in dream like sequences is distinct. Infact, he paints both men and women is a surrealist fashion, trying to capture the intricate music of their myriad moods and emotions. For the last three decades, he has regularly participated in all major exhibitions in India and abroad. He lives and works in Delhi.
