Satyasewak Mukherjee is an artist of multiple hues. He graduated from the Indian Art College, Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) and then honed his skills and that of a whole new generation of younger artists as a teacher in the same college for over 10 years. Mukherjee’s work implores a deeper look at even the simplest of gestures, be it talking to a neighbour, an evening of leisure, a gathering of people or a sombre mood that hovers either when contemplating life or just waiting for the pieces to fall into place. Nature, resonates strongly in Mukherjee’s works. Besides his role as an artist and teacher, Satyasewak Mukherjee has also held prestigious posts such as that of the Art Director with several national media houses and his last assignment was with reputed mainline newspaper, the Hindustan Times in Delhi.
